Founded in the late 1990s, Lowell Drum Corps is a team that places an emphasis on discipline, good character, and leadership through drumming. Throughout the years, it has been a source of school pride, both at Lowell and in public. Every year, the team practices for the annual city-wide Junior ROTC Spring Competition. Lowell Drum Corps has won first place 5 times in the last 9 years, and strive to continue their legacy. Other than their Spring Competition, Lowell Drum Corps’ performances include the Veteran’s Day Parade, Chinese New Year, and St. Patrick’s Day Parade in San Francisco, school rallies, and many more. Tryouts are held at the beginning of every semester, and no experience is required to join. Lowell Drum Corps consists of a variety of instruments, including toms, snares, bugles, glockenspiels/bells (similar to a xylophone), and cymbals.
