MEET THE MEMBERS
President Steven Gong
I’m Steven Gong, President of the Class of 2019 for two years now. It’s pretty cool.
I don’t really have a defined style of leadership, but I can guarantee you I can lead my board to go out there and get crap done, but I usually like having some fun along the way.
Aside from LSA, I also do piano, dragonboat, dance, and plenty outside of Lowell. This year I plan to apply to be a National Merit Finalist in the October PSAT as well as compete in a national piano competition in the highest division. I usually have dragonboat or workouts planned after school until Sep 15, and in the spring, from February to April. I am also the President of Breaker’s Alliance, a club I love verrrrry much. (memes.) This year I also plan to compete in the National Biology Olympiad and look at lots of memes.
Don’t be afraid to say hi to me in the halls! I promise I’ll know your name if you say hi within three times.
You can find my schedule on the LSA stalkerboard, located next to the attendance office. (The poster with the Adventure Time theme on it.) After school, I will usually be in the cave during the middle portion of the school year but will be on the volleyball courts conditioning or at Lake Merced paddling. On Fridays you can find me at the arcade attending Breaker’s Alliance.
If you would like to contact me, I reply to Facebook messages ASAP, within an hour.
Anyways, stay in school and don’t bring tomatoes
a n y w h e r e n e a r m e .
I look very forward to serving you this year.
Vice President Clarisse Aruino
Hi! My name is Clarisse Aruino and I am your 2019 Vice President. It's my third year being on LSA and it's one of the best parts of my day. Besides student government, I also hold other leadership positions. I am on the ptsa, co-chair of Student Advocacy Committee, Student Advisory Council, and I am the President of External Affairs of Byte Lab. I'm passionate about STEM, specifically computer science (it's the future!) which I've only been interested in for 2 years. I'm really excited to see what junior year has planned for us. Let's have another great year!
Secretary Sabrina Lu
I'm Sabrina Lu & I've been your 2019 secretary for the past three years here at Lowell. I'm super stoked for this year's upcoming events and can't wait for all the fun memories that we'll be able to provide for you guys through the events that we host :) I'm super approachable (although I've been told that I have a mean resting face) but don't let that stop you from coming up to me because I'm open minded to any new ideas or suggestions you might have for our grade.
Anyways, here's some things about me: I love the color purple, I love animals, & I love having heart felt conversations where I can give as much advice as I can to that person! I would definitely say that I'm a pretty compassionate individual, which reminds me, juniors, do your best this year and know your limits. It's only been four days as a junior and I already can say a lot! This year is gonna be a tough one but I believe that we can all make it at the end. Pull through, manage your time well, & just have faith in yourself! I sometimes think of LSA dance events as a way for Lowell students to treat themselves, to take in that extra breath, and most importantly, to enjoy the last precious moments as a teen, which leads me to the last tip: Reward yourself! Be proud to be a Lowell student because in the end, it'll be so so SOOOOO worth it.
GO 2019 JUNIORS!!
p.s. just message me if you need anything, I'm always available for comfort, tears, you name it.
Treasurer Kristen Tam
Hi guys! My name is Kristen and I am our 2019 class treasurer! Besides counting and keeping track of our money (super fun) I love nature and getting outside. I enjoy running, playing sports, hiking, biking (most things that involve physical activity), making cards for people, and traveling (especially to Kauai)! I like eating salads and healthy things like that, but also have a weak spot for pastries :) I am an environmental nut (and so if I ask you to sort your waste instead of just dumping it in the trash, do not be alarmed, I just want to help spread awareness and try to make our Lowell community more environmentally friendly). As you can see, I have a lot to say about myself, but also love talking to, and getting to know others, so please say hi! I can’t wait to meet more of our grade as time goes on and am excited for the events we have planned for y’all!
Public Relations Kaye chin
Hey! My name is Kaye and I'm your 2019 Public Relations Officer! I'm really excited to be serving my 3rd year on the board and continuing working on awesome events and support for everyone in our grade. If you guys ever need anything, I got you. You can probably find me sleeping in the library during 4th block or at the vending machine in between classes! Say hi!
HistOrian Allica Santos
Hey! I’m Allica and I never met anyone who correctly said my name on the 1st try. This is my 1st year on the board as the 2019 Historian for LSA Junior board. I’m really into photography and as Historian my job is to use my skills to take great pictures during school events and dances. My hobby is photography ever since I was young, last year I decided to take photography class at Lowell High School and from time to time I take photo shoots with friends for fun. Outside of school, I’m on a Dragon Boat team and my favorite food is hamburgers and crepes. I’m shy at first but once I feel comfortable with people around me I become outgoing and loud. I’m very excited to be on LSA board and be able to work, plan and bond with wonderful people who make every year fun and possible for our class. If you have any questions or need a photographer *wink wink* just come up to me in the hallways or around school.
